Greater Cairo Metro Line 3

The work carried out for the design works for Phases 1 & 2 of the project included the following:

• Topographical survey for the whole line using the most advanced electronic instruments providing all data features in their true perspectives in scales (1/200), (1/500) and (1/1000).
  
  
• Geotechnical studies, for the whole line including field and lab works. Field tests have been performed for more than 2500 linear metres of borings. Boreholes 70 m deep were performed for the underground stations and linear and non-linear parameters of the soil strata were calculated.
  
  
• Diversion of public utilities studies were given priority preceding the main works.
