El-Marg Wastewater Project
As part of the Greater Cairo Wastewater Project, El-Marg Project comprised several different aspects, a considerable accomplishment on its own:
- 95 km of gravity pipelines ranging in size from 225 mm to 1,400 mm diameter.
- Four pump stations (PS) for the four parts of El-Marg area: Sharque El-Teraa, the northern part of El-Marg, and two secondary PSs for Manshiet El-Amer and El-Andalos. The average discharge of each PS is around 4,130 m3/hr.
- Four main force pipelines of 2.5 km in length and 600 mm diameter.
- One kilometre of micro tunnels of 600 mm diameter and one pipe of 1,300 m3/hr crossings of 2,900 mm diameter.
- The four pumping stations convey the sewage to the connecting chamber no. 2 on the main Greater Cairo Wastewater project.
