(Second Greater Cairo Ring Road)

Three different alignments were studied and the finally selected one appeared best suited to the following characteristics:

  1. Road length
  2. Land topography
  3. Number of structures at interchanges and river crossing
  4. Land acquisition
  5. Number of structures to avoid storm water passage
  6. Trip cost and duration
  7. Cost of road construction
  8. Nile River width at crossing points
  9. Avoiding urban, historical and military districts
  10. Environmental impact
