The Grand Egyptian Museum
The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is located in Al-Remayah Square, near the Pyramids of Giza, on a 48-hectare site overlooking the pyramids. It will be an international centre of Egyptology with conservation resources, educational and research facilities, conference and seminar facilities, all immediately adjacent to the worlds greatest collection of Egyptian artefacts and within easy access of the monuments created by that renowned civilisation. It is also targeted to be a public cultural facility with parks and gardens that tell the story of Egypt through another point of view, that of the land of the Nile.
The project comprises 3 phases:
