King Abdul Aziz University - Sports Complex

ACE was responsible for many facets of this sports complex at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Although broken down into two main phases, each one was made-up of numerous, complex elements:

Sports Stadium

• Main entrance feature in the form of an over-hanging canopy
• Ramp to the first floor considered as a VIP drop-off point. Linking bridge with Central Athletics, conceived as suspension type
• Patron circulation rational control/ticket system utilised
• Curved walls which are the most prominent feature of the stadium, so richer architectural treatment of precast concrete with stone coursing was proposed
