The 1980s witnessed a radical change in the goals, vision and strategic perspectives of ACE. The architectural department of the company was established and state-of-the-art technology in engineering analysis, design and drawing software were acquired, making ACE a pioneer in this approach.
The decade featured expansion in ACE’s areas of expertise, particularly its roads and highways, water, and mass transit activities, which were mainly initiated by undertaking the engineering consultancy works for the Greater Cairo Ring Road, the Greater Cairo Wastewater Project and the Greater Cairo Metro Line. The introduction of additional disciplines was necessary to catch up with the high-pace growth of the firm and its credentials.
