Professor Ahmed Moharram Sr
This law is the basis on which Egyptian design codes are issued up to this date and is currently being produced and modified regularly by a committee that incorporates hundreds of highly experienced and specialised engineers and academics. Moreover, as the Minister of Housing and Public Utilities, Prof Moharram was responsible for the complete supervision of the works executed by the Egyptian contracting companies participating in the construction of the renowned High Dam project in Upper Egypt. Prof Moharram also served as a head of the Egyptian Engineering Society for 12 years based on six presidential decrees.
In his distinguished career, Prof Moharram received the Republic of Egypt’s highest medal of honour in 1964, the state merit prize in engineering sciences in 1983, and finally the Mubarak prize for sciences in 2003.
