Prof Ahmed is a member of many technical societies including the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the International Association for Bridges and Structural Engineering (IABSE), the International Tunnelling Association (ITA), and the Egyptian Society of Engineers (ESE).
Prof Ahmed joined ACE in 1980. Since then he has been involved in a number of mega multi-disciplinary projects, both technically and as a project manager. His accomplishments were recognised by a state merit prize (2nd order) in 1984 from the Egyptian government in appreciation of his services during al-Azhar fly-over project. His distinctive vision and exceptional managerial experience have played a major role in ACE’s international growth during the past 25 years to encompass work in more than 30 countries.
