The project involves the construction of a bridge at Dapdapia over the Kirtankhola River on the third kilometre of the Barisal-Patuakhali National Highway in southern Bangladesh.
Detailed Scope
A detailed design for the bridge was carried out by ACE MB and according to which, the bridge has a length of about 1.1 km with about 5 km-long approach roads. There is a secondary bridge on the approach to the main bridge with a length of about 200 m. The main bridge is a 2 x 3.5 m carriageway with 1.25 m footpaths on both sides. A number of culverts were required on the bridge approaches.
